Top Awards

History of Top Achievers in scouting goes beyond establishment of present NSO in 1950. It highlights the organization’s commitment to honouring long-standing members of the Scouting movement. That time Top achievers were called Maharaja Scouts, being part of pre-1950 Scouting history in India, have played a significant role in shaping the movement before independence. After present NSO The Bharat Scouts and Guides came into existence, Top Achievers Awards were established as President Scout / President Guide / President Rover / President Ranger Awards. The first President Scouts and President Guides Rally was held at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on 28th November 1961 in Ashoka Hall. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, the Officiating President of India, presented the certificates. From 1989, the Top Achievers Awards in India have been renamed as Rashtrapati Scout / Rashtrapati Guide / Rashtrapati Rover / Rashtrapati Ranger Award.
